I gave a keynote at the Information Retrieval for Climate Impact Workshop at SIGIR'24 entitled Automating Systematic Reviews with Information Retrieval. See the links above for more information and to download the slides.

I ran a workshop at the IQWiG Information Retrieval Meeting 2024 about using APIs for evidence identification. More and more APIs (application programming interfaces) are used as programmatic interfaces for certain databases or data sets.

I gave a talk to the Information Retrieval Research Group at TH Köln entitled Efficiency and Energy in Neural Information Retrieval. The talk can be downloaded here The talk covered Green IR and a recent listwise neural IR model.

I gave a joint colloquium talk with Martin Potthast at the Institut für Laboratoriumsmedizin, Klinische Chemie und Molekulare Diagnostik (ILM) in Leipzig at the University Clinic entitled ChatGPT and Large Language Models for Medical Applications.

I gave a talk at Johannes Kepler University Linz on Janurary 19, 2023 about my SIGIR'22 paper entitled Reduce, Reuse, Recycle: Green Information Retrieval Research. This talk gave an overview of the paper and discussed the current state of Green IR research, as well as some future directions.
